Massage Therapy – First Year Program (8 months)

The Massage Therapy First Year Program is a prerequisite for entry to the Second Year Program. The massage therapy program provides students with the knowledge to provide a safe and ethical one-hour relaxation massage using a variety of Swedish Massage techniques. First year students will also be introduced to Case History, Anatomy, Physiology, Medical Terminology and Hydrotherapy. Upon completion of this program, graduates may obtain associate or student memberships with the associations listed below.

  • Intake Dates:
    • Fall, Winter, Spring

  • Program Length:
    • 8 months

  • Admission Requirements:

    • High school diploma

    • Successful interview with administration

    • Government Issued Identification showing 18 years or older.

  • Program Schedule Options:

    • Weekends (One weekend per month)

    • Daytime (Tuesdays from 9:30am – 2:00pm)

Massage Therapy – Second Year Program (10 months)

Massage Therapy Students learn deep tissue massage, fascial release, facilitated exercises, history taking, orthopaedic assessments and treatment of pathologies of the entire muscular-skeletal system. Massage Therapy Students practice in PCMT’s Student Clinic throughout the program. Graduates of the Massage Therapy program become Registered Massage Therapists upon joining an association.

  • Intake Dates:

    • January, April, July and October

  • Program Length:
    • 10 months

  • Admission Requirements:

    • First Year Program OR

    • Direct Entry – Massage Therapy students who already have training from another institution may be eligible for direct entry into the Massage Therapy Second Year Program.

    • Government Issued Identification showing 18 years or older.

  • Program Schedule Options:

    • Weekends (One weekend per month)

Prairie College of Massage Therapy offers an inspired, blended program that lets you train for a career as a Registered Massage Therapist without putting your life on hold.

This progressive learning approach combines home study, in-class tutorials, and clinic practical time. Massage Therapy students study from home using PCMT’s online Learning Management System. PCMT instructors are always available through email to answer any questions. PCMT offers in-class sessions focus on hands-on learning as you train to become a Massage Therapist.
